World Scaler
You are a scientist with the ability to resize the world on a whim! You can also levitate boxes, because why not! Use these strange abilities to navigate the challenges of this cute puzzle-platformer game.
How to play:
The core mechanic is the ability to grab a box and scale it with you. As the size of a box changes, so does the mass. Small boxes are light and easy to throw around, while large boxes are cumbersome and slow to move.
To activate a button with a box, the box must be similar in size to, or larger than, the button.
CONTROLS:
- Esc - Pause
- A/D - Move
- Space - Jump
- Q/E - Scale world
- Left click - Pick up and throw
This game was made for the GMTK Game Jam 2024. The theme was "Built to Scale", and so I built the level to be scaled, which sounds almost the same to me!
I recommend downloading it for better performance and less stuttering, but the web build is perfectly playable. Be sure to use full screen!

Love the music and atmosphere of the game! the platforming feels really smooth; one suggestion I would have is to make holding objects a little less 'floaty'? it feels a little unpredictable where the box will end up and collide with the player :) Great job!!
The box isn't holding down the button. Am I doing something wrong?
Ah yeah I didn't explain that in game, the box needs to be big enough to have enough weight to hold it down.
Ok. I got past the third level. I tried growing the box in the hole at the end of the third level, and I ended up glitching through the ground. I was able to complete the level by just walking to the exit through the ground, but afterward growing and shrinking moved me left and right
It's a feature, ship it! 😂
